Empowering and Uniting the Next Generation of Global Leaders through Music
Uniting Voices Lexington empowers and unites youth from diverse backgrounds to find their voice and celebrate their common humanity through the power of music.
Through a network of school-based and after-school programs rooted in artistic excellence, we empower young singers across the Bluegrass region with a shared vision of a harmonious world. The organization develops programs that intentionally embrace the diversity of the Bluegrass region, making a high caliber music education available to any singer who wants it.
The program is the first local chapter outside of Chicago for Uniting Voices, an organization founded at the dawn of the Civil Rights Movement and rooted in the belief that music is a vehicle for fostering empathy and respect between young people of all lived experiences.
Dr. Michael Preacely is an acclaimed baritone and university music educator who serves as Artistic Director of Uniting Voices Lexington. As a singer he has received critical acclaim for his performances across United States and abroad, including features with New York-based Opera Noire, Butler University Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Opera, Opera Company Philadelphia, Kentucky Opera, Cleveland Opera, Lyric Opera Cleveland, the American Spiritual Ensemble and many others.
